PIVOT NOW ~ An Invitation to P.L.A.Y!

Uncategorized Apr 20, 2023

We’ve all watched really good dancers,  from breakers to ballerinas, morph into fluid, awe-inspiring silhouettes that delight and amaze us. We’ve also marveled as dancers, immersed in the moment, suddenly pivot— changing direction on the spot.

In the dance of life we are often called on to pivot. Stagnation, boredom and mind-numbing sameness can cause us to change direction and move toward who we really are—toward our passions, toward creating something new and valuable, toward feeling more refreshed and grounded.

Life is unrelenting in its invitation for us to pivot. We dance to rhythms that are ever changing – an unexpected illness,  the loss of a job or a broken relationship. All these life events serve as invitations to pivot toward what is big and bold within us.

Pivoting is an art— an art that takes a lifetime to master. Pivoting is the art of reinvention.

At BLOOM, we believe there is a foolproof formula for pivoting and finding new rhythms when faced with obstacles and challenges. When applied, this formula enables us to pivot gracefully and move toward fulfilling our deepest desires. This formula involves P.L.A.Y. When you P.L.A.Y.,  you simply PAUSE, LISTEN, APPRECIATE and offer YES!

Let’s PLAY!

P - PAUSE

I FORGET SO I CAN REMEMBER

When we pause, we make space for silence and non-judgment. We remember who we really are. It’s here that we dissolve hard-wired identities and allow ourselves to be an engaged observer in the dance of life.

Awareness begins in the silence—that place where we experience the mystery of ourselves unfolding. To live this experience, we must cease all movement and become still. In our stillness, we can hear the silence. We can hear what our spirits want to reveal to us. It is only then that we are prepared to listen.

Affirmation

I pause to let go of all limiting ideas about who I am.

I choose to see myself as limitless.

My life is a timeless and unfolding mystery.

I am a surprise to myself.

I REMEMBER WHO I AM WHEN I AM STILL AND QUIET

L - LISTEN

I AM CURIOUS

Our ability to reason is activated by curiosity – the ability to be in a state of wonder, openness, and exploration. We live in a boundless universe where we can always grow and expand our awareness. Each day we are learning and growing. The only obstacles we face, really, are those old ideas about who we are— ideas given to us by the culture in which we were raised. That’s why our first step is to affirm a release of those limiting ideas so we can open ourselves – our minds and our spirits – to new ideas. The wisdom we seek must first be found within.

Affirmation

I listen with all my being for what I truly want to experience:

LOVE,  FREEDOM, BEAUTY, JOY, SIMPLICITY, EASE, STRENGTH, and BALANCE.

I breathe in LOVE,  FREEDOM, BEAUTY, JOY, SIMPLICITY,

EASE,  STRENGTH, and BALANCE and I breathe out all fear and

limiting beliefs. I feel good.

I AM AWAKE AND CURIOUS

When we’re feeling good we can enter a state of appreciation.

A - APPRECIATE

I IMAGINE AND I SEE

Nature is able to imagine and reimagine herself. Nature exists as a dynamic field of possibilities that is always creating something new. So too with us. With our ability to imagine and reimagine, we can see beauty everywhere. And when we see it, we can choose to say yes to it. But in order to truly see the beauty outside ourselves, we must first see the beauty within. Then and only then will we see and appreciate beauty everywhere. This is true appreciation – appreciation for what it is.

Affirmation

I appreciate all as beauty.

I appreciate all that I am.

I appreciate all that I have now.

I see  a world... [your vision here] a

I SEE AND APPRECIATE

- YES. YES.

I LET GO and I ALLOW

Nature allows things to be. It’s not in a hurry. So too, we can allow genuine relationships and connections to be made organically and in equity. To obtain  equity requires mercy. Mercy gives us perspective and the ability to see things differently. And just as we must first see beauty in ourselves before we see it outside of us, we must first be merciful with ourselves, before we can extend grace and mercy to others. Start by taking time to notice how much grace and mercy you’ve been granted. Recognize how in each moment, life flows into you without judgment, or conditions.

As you practice allowing and accepting, you are choosing to let go! You’re no longer fighting or lamenting or bemoaning your circumstances. Letting go, receiving grace and mercy, granting grace and mercy, that’s how we say YES! And as each of us says yes more and more, we’re able to fully experience all of life’s changes and mysteries. Being present with all that is gives us the time and space to pivot.

 Affirmation

I say yes to life.

I let go of that which no longer serves me.

I allow connections to be made naturally.

I accept what is.

I let life be.

I ALLOW & LET GO

Like a dancer who relentlessly and repeatedly practices their routine, your P.L.A.Y. practice strengthens your ability to move gracefully and fluidly through life and pivot when necessary. As you learn to pivot, you’ll begin to see all of your experiences as opportunities— opportunities and gifts. Then you can loudly and boldly affirm:

“I hear myself”

“I see my true self”

“I feel myself changing”

“I am connected to all life

“I am home.”
