THIS IS OUR B.I.G. AND IT’S LIVE!!!

Uncategorized Jul 29, 2022

 Dear Friends,

I can only hope that you are taking advantage of this global moment at the crossroads.

For me I have been using this moment to grow a bigger awareness of who I am— as someone who is big enough to navigate the roller coaster of abundance, excitement, love, fear, insecurities and vulnerabilities, chosen and triggered by this moment in our human evolution.

BECOMING BIGGER—this is the opportunity of this global moment, especially when we each authentically engage with life as a Big Impossible Goal.

We each have one.

Whatever your impossibilities are, HOLD ON to that which feeds you and nourishes you—deep feelings of love and your vision of a better world, and LET GO of that which does not. Things like — old narratives, about yourself, about people, places and things.

What we have before us human beings is an impossible challenge, and it starts with each of us, becoming new.

This is how we bloom.

While I am moved and inspired by the constantly emerging bounty of creatives, the richness of our gifts and the generosity of our sharing, engaging my own impossibilities through BLOOMFEST in Ghana —its twists and turns—has triggered all my wounds.

There is shame and anger for not being good enough, knowing and having enough. There are feelings of wanting to be accepted but also anger—this feeling that I have not really been invited to the party and with that a feeling of loneliness.

In the mists of all this bounty how could these feelings be there!?

You see, I have found that daring to be B.I.G. is richly rewarding, it takes me past the existential demons that guard the gates to what really matters to me and the truth of who I essentially am.

I hope you are choosing this moment to confront and embrace those demons for yourself.

If you are, how are you experiencing this moment?

I really do want to know. What has come up for you? How are you making it through, the good times, but also the rough ones.

Next week I will again visit the slave dungeons at Cape Coast Castle. When I was last there I almost collapsed in horror.

How is it possible that they —my ancestors survived?

I suspect now that they must have held on to each other.

In the midst of a creative act, we all need someone or something to hold on to.

Yet it might not be there.

What do you hold on to when you are not looking pretty?

What I need for you to know is what I am feeling.

I need to know what you are feeling too.

Can we hold on, together?

ON SATURDAY JULY 30, at 5PM GMT we will have some time to journey together to align ourselves more deeply to what really matters to us.

We will be asking: why are you here for this moment? What’s bringing you alive? Who are you now? What is your role? And where can we go together?

It’s not the answers that matter. We believe it is the stories that get told in the process of your response that really matters; and that telling these stories are how we hold on, together.

We are calling our time together: FINDING YOUR B.I.G. LIVE!!!

This is not a workshop, it is our lives!

This is for everyone engaged in BLOOMFEST in any way, or if you wish to be.

BLOOMFEST is a global gathering of African creatives working on "Big Impossible Goals." It is a gathering of the dopest artists, thinkers, entrepreneurs and change-makers of our time. We are coming together in the midst of great global challenges to celebrate our lives, learn from each other, share our stories and inspire each other for the road ahead.

The goal of BLOOMFEST is to measurably change the lives of one million creatives in Africa and its diaspora each year through conferences,  tours, co-labs, meet-ups and parties, using the philosophy of BLOOMING and collective work.

The Festival happens for the first time in Ghana, August 1-15, 2022.
