“How will I get through this?”
“Where can I find safety?”
“This is beginning to feel like it might never end!”
This reflects much of what I am hearing when I tap into our global cultural zeitgeist . Old structures are being peeled away as the competition for power, influence and resources heats up with devastating consequences for the environment and our well being.
When the structures in our lives fail us, we are disconnected from EARTH energy. These structures are the constants that we have been taught to rely on for our nurturance, protection and safety. This might be the community of the church you grew up in, the capacity of our family to love and guide and the rule of law. When these structures atrophy, the result is a sense of homelessness and chaos that runs in counterpoint to our DESIRE for safety, stability, belonging, order, grounding and care.
Currently with the threatened diminishment of world ordering systems we are being invited to relive earth shattering moments f...

I have a good friend who reminds me when I am washing the dishes not to waste water, for in many parts of the world there is a water shortage. Her reminders were sharp and they have stayed with me every time I wash dishes. Â
I now wander:Â
How much water is needed to wash dishes? This goes way beyond the need to conserve water or to manage waste of any kind.Â
Depending on how we have been nurtured we learn to withhold our true feelings, the depths of our love, our compliments, words of praise. We have been taught they there can be too much of a good thing.Â
Imagine that there is an unlimited | inexhaustible supply bliss, joy | abundance | freedom | contentment | creativity in you that can be released as easily as turning on a tap.Â
How wide would you open the tap? How do you moderate the flow?Â
We call your ability to do this “LETTING.”
Consider that LETTING does not require you to conserve, control, withhold, or save anything for a rainy day; there is no responsibility...
Friends,
Today, I caught myself reading about the war in Ukraine and weeping…
I wept not just about this war. I wept for all our wars– born of misunderstandings and mis-communication. I wept from the hopelessness and sadness I feel about this particular time in our human evolution.Â
I am okay with feeling these feelings.Â
Feeling hopeless does not negate the possibility of change. For me hopelessness is the product of the memory of my desire for change–for something new.Â
It is my desire, being born.
These days I have a careful vigilance around my emotional life. We are in an environment of mis-information, where the need for money, to be right and have power over others too often shapes one’s truth away from what we know is possible.Â
The wars we wage with each other and ourselves, are rooted in our instinct to survive, at any cost.Â
I know survival well. Â
When I turned 60, 3 years ago it seemed as though all hell broke loose. Significant friendships ended, my relationship...
Dear One,
It would seem, if the news is to be believed, we are “running out of options.” Among them are the options to make peace, to work together towards equity and justice, to save the planet, and to create new cultural narratives that free us all.Â
Too often we have been painted into a worldview, where life seems to be shrinking rather than expanding. Too often, we hear about what’s failing rather than what is succeeding.Â
Today’s RISE is about what we at BLOOM call “BOLD MOVES.” Simply said, these are moves that align with who you are, what you can do, and what you have.Â
Making a BOLD MOVE, runs counter to the dystopian narrative that sees things as falling apart.Â
To keep moving forward, towards that which you deeply desire is a revolutionary act. To do so subscribes to the realization that desire is stronger than fear; that fear is the product of our desires coming into being… that fear is not the opposite of love, rather it is the activity of love coming into being as y...
